Google is getting ready to launch its own Cloud storage service

According to the Wall Street Journal, Google is getting close to launching its own cloud storage service called Drive to compete against services such as  Dropbox, Box.net and Apple's iCloud.

The new service is expected to be added to the Google Apps products and allow users to upload and sync various files such as documents, photos and videos.

This service will undoubtedly make Google a stronger competitor in the cloud storage marketplace and enhance the tools available through Google Apps. As an avid user of Google Apps for Education, I have been frustrated by the limitations of storage options available to Google Apps for Education and am hopeful that the new soon to released service will make it much easier for teachers and students to manage all of their content in the cloud.
