10 Great apps for the holiday season

     With the holidays fast approaching, I decided to put together a list of great apps for the holidays. I must admit that I have not tested out all of these apps but have tried to include those which look worthwhile. Over the next few days, I will continue to post great apps, websites and other resources to get you ready for the Christmas season. And just as Christmas is the season of sharing, please do share these links with others. 

                                      Cards (free)
This free app  takes the work out of shopping for the perfect holiday card for your friends and family. You can personalize your card the way you want and have it shipped anywhere in the world without having to step out of your home. The cost of the card and shipping is very reasonable  at $2.99 within the US and $4.99 anywhere else  in the world. 

A Charlie Brown Christmas  ($6.99) 

This is a must have app for the holiday season. This classic story is told through a beautiful app which brings the spirit of the season to life with narration from the voice of Charlie himself. You can learn more by reading my earlier review

How the Grinch Stole Christmas ($3.99) 

Here is another classic Christmas story from Dr. Seuss. A great app from a story with a great message. 

Salvation Army Christmas Apps 

Christmas is the time of giving and you can donate to those less fortunate with the Salvation Army Christmas apps (Bell Ringer, Christmas Music and Online Red Kettle. Check their website for more details. 

Santa's Christmas Village ($0.99)

This app includes a number of games and activities to get you into the Christmas Spirit. 

Snowman Math ($0.99) 

With this simple app children can enjoy building a snowman as they answer addition and subtraction questions. Who said math couldn't be fun? 

Christmas!! (free) 

This is a fun and well-reviewed app which includes a Christmas countdown and fun activities. Best of all, it's free!

Good Food from BBC ($2.99)

No holiday season is complete without great food. This is a well reviewed app which includes 160 recipes for the holiday season. 

Dr. Seuss Camera: The Grinch Edition ($1.99) 

We love to take lots of photos during the holidays and with this app you can create cards and make yourself a Dr. Seuss c

PopOut! The Night Before Christmas ($4.99)

This interactive book has gotten great reviews and is the perfect story to read with children during the holiday season.
